Jimmy Gay Bradley, 88, of Spencer, W.Va., died Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at WVU Medicine, Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, W.Va.
He was born July 16, 1935, at Left Hand, W.Va., the son of the late Faud and Loretta Kelly Bradley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Delmas Parsons.
Survivors include his wife, V. Ruth Stone Bradley: daughter, Janet Parsons of Gay, W.Va.; son Greg (Lisa) Bradley of Charleston, W.Va.; grandsons, Matthew Bradley of Mason, W.Va. and Benjamin (Natalie) Bradley of Boston, Mass.; brother, Jack Bradley of Bethlehem, Ga.; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Pam) Stone of Looneyville, W.Va.
Jimmy was a retired 37 year employee of Kaiser Aluminum, Ravenswood, W.Va. After his retirement, he worked as a realtor for Board-DePue Realty Company for 23 years.
He was a 50 year member of Moriah Lodge No. 38, A.F. & AM., Spencer and the Wetzel Chapter No. 27, O.E.S., Spencer. Also, he was a member of the Nemesis Shrine, A.A.O.N.M.S., Parkersburg, W.Va.
Jimmy was a Marine Corps veteran and a member of the American Legion Post No. 21, Spencer.
He was a charter member of the Roane County Gun Club. His pastimes included working in his garden, fishing and hunting.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Charles B. White, Jr. officiating. Burial, with military honors, accorded by the USMC Honor Guard will be at the Clover Cemetery, Clover, W.Va. Masonic rites will immediately follow the military honors.
Donations are preferred to the donor's choice.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
