Jimmy K. Arnold, 77 of Midland, TX left this life April 1, 2023. Jimmy was born to Malcom "KP" Arnold and Avis Louise Brinlee (Arnold-Queen) on March 5, 1946. Jimmy was a 1964 graduate of Ector High School in Odessa, TX where he was born and raised. Jimmy enlisted into the Army in June 1966. During his service he was awarded many medals, including the Bronze Star with the Oak Leaf Cluster. After serving his Country, Jimmy continued his education at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin where he earned his Bachelor's in Business/Finance in 1977. Excelling in finance Jimmy built and paved his legacy through many endeavors; from loan officer to appraiser to teacher and he ended his career as an Oil and Gas Advisor. Jimmy was a dedicated Veteran that continued to serve in his community through The Shriners, The Chuckwagon Gang, Hunt for Heroes, ReelThanx and the American Legion. Jimmy was a dedicated Son, Brother, Uncle and friend. He was known for his ability to nickname anyone or anything. A lover of animals and children, he gave abundantly to different charitable organizations to help fight for them. He would often say it was because they couldn't fight for themselves. His quick wit and overall world knowledge kept anyone on their toes while engaging in conversation with him. Often misunderstood, he would challenge you to find the potential that he saw in you, that was his beauty and his gift.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his father Malcom "KP" Arnold, his mother Avis Louise Brinlee (Arnold-Queen) and his brother in law Steven Blake Carter. Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Judy K. Carter of Midland, TX, his brother, Johnny M. Arnold of Midland, TX, his nephew Sean D. Carter of Midland, TX, his niece, Brandy L. Douthit and husband Ross of Odessa, TX, his niece Shalon D. Robinson and husband Marc of Cleburne, TX, his nephew, Markus W.K. Arnold of Longview, TX, his great nephew Chandler B. Arnold of Odessa, TX, his great nephew Chance Robinson and great niece Natalie Robinson of Cleburne, TX, his great niece Lily Arnold and great nephew Tex Arnold of Gilmer, TX and his great-great nephew, Casher Arnold of Odessa, TX.
A Memorial will be set at a later date. The family would like to thank his many friends that have reached out and expressed their love and memories with us. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or your local Shriner's Organization.
