Jimmie L. Woodard passed away on November 7, 2022, at the age of 83. He was born in Sandia, Texas on August 20, 1939, to William Riley and Willie Grace (Palmer) Woodard.
Jimmie lived in West Texas and New Mexico for a few years, moved to Clegg, Texas and finished high school in George West, Texas in 1957. In 1958 he joined the Army and was stationed in West Germany, where he met his wife, Ursula Hackmuller. She came to the United States in 1961.
They lived in Ira, Texas while Jimmie worked in the oil field and helped his father farm. They moved to Martindale, Texas in 1962-63 and he worked for Scrutchin Chevrolet in San Marcos. They later bought a home on Sycamore Street in San Marcos, where they lived with their two wonderful daughters, Susan and Karen. Ursula suffered a stroke and passed away in 2007; and Jimmie later sold the house and moved to Redwood with his daughter and granddaughter, where he helped take care of them and the place until his passing. Jimmie will be buried alongside his wife in the Redwood Cemetery.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Ursula Woodard, and his sister, Barbara Norris. He is survived by his daughters, Susan Woodard Reynolds and Karen Woodard, and his granddaughter, Sheri Reynolds.
A visitation will be held Saturday, November 12, 10:00-10:30am at Pennington Funeral Home, followed by Graveside Services at 11:00am at Redwood Cemetery, 4710 Redwood Rd., San Marcos, Texas.
