Jimmie M. Bruce of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the age of 91. She was born on September 3, 1930 in Birmingham, Alabama, where she grew up and graduated from Shades Cahaba High School.
Jimmie attended Montevallo College, in Alabama. She worked as the Director of the Birmingham Girl's Club, in Bessemer; Program Coordinator for National MS Society, in Knoxville and Nashville, and Executive Director for Robertson County Senior Citizens Center, in Springfield, TN.
Jimmie was very proud of and devoted to her family. She loved to read, paint, and sew. She grew the loveliest flowers and made the best Sour Cream Coconut Cake. She always remembered birthdays and holidays, sending handmade cards to family and friends. Jimmie lived life in her own way - independent, bold, and feisty.
She was preceded in death by her father, James E. Morrow; mother, Grace Y. Morrow; and brother, J. Thomas Morrow.
She is survived by her daughter, Victoria H. McCarthy (James) and son, Allen K. Harris (Carole). Grandchildren: Sarah E. Woodruff, Samuel A. McCarthy (Amy), Emily L. Harris, and Benjamin A. Harris (Stuart Lynch). Great Grandchildren: Ethan L. Woodruff, Kathleen G. Woodruff and Jacob A. McCarthy.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Mary, Queen of Angels, for their care and compassion over the last three years.
