Jim Tarr

Jim Tarr died peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. He was born January 26, 1941 in Wilder, Idaho and spent his youth working on the family farm with his 8 siblings. After a short term in the national guard, he spent the next 50 years in careers ranging from sales, to farming, to police work, to security. In 1962, he married Cathy Tarr, the love of his life and spent nearly 3 decades raising 5 children; Scott Tarr, Wendy Mehiel, Chris Tarr, Michelle Brewer, and Brian Tarr.

Dad was loved by all. His classmates comment about his incredible athletic talent. His family remembers his musical gifts and laughter. Friends mention his unfailing joy. And his dozens of caregivers continue to share how he never complained and was always grateful. Dad never met a stranger and is likely in Heaven shooting baskets, playing the piano, petting all the dogs, and calling everyone by name. Oh, let's throw in a little orneriness just for fun. Dad LOVED to tease!
