Jim Dillon went home to be with his savior on December 29, 2021.
He was born April 15, 1939, in Parma, Idaho to John and Vida Dillon, then soon moved to the Nampa area where he graduated from Nampa High School.
In 1956 he met Kaaran Gunderson where they dated until she graduated from high school and were married November 23, 1960. They celebrated 61 years of marriage this past November.
Jim and Kaaran added two children to the family son John, daughter Susan.
The family made many memories in the motor home, camping, and boating with friends.
Jim and his brother Bob started Dillon Auto Bros. in 1958, later known as Dillon Auto Salvage. Shortly after they split, and Bob took on the Yamaha dealership. Jim was remarkably successful in gathering a talented team of employees to carry out the years. Thanks to all.
The family had the Toyota dealership downtown Nampa where he took his turn running it but later knew that the salvage yard is what made him.
In 1986 Jim purchased Trusty Auto Parts in Garden City, Idaho. Son John ran at a young age, once again putting together a great team of employees. Thanks to all.
In 1989 John came to his dad and said, dad the storage units across the street from the salvage is for sale shall we buy them, so they did. And as the years went by daughter Susan started running the Storage Units taking another load from her dad, thanks Sis
So as the years have passed John purchased the Salvage yards and Susan became a partner in the storages.
Jim's passion for racing started in 1950 something. He ran Dirt cars, then Modifieds and stockcars, he held many track records. Jim was one of the first members inducted to the W.I.R.A Hall of Fame. Jim gave up racing in 1980 with John taking over in 1981. In the later year Jim, started drag racing with daughter Susan. Winning many trophies, his favorite was called "Walley".
Jim was preceded in death by his parents John and Vida Dillon, brother Bob Dillon and sister Joanna.
Jim is survived by wife Kaaran, Brother Dwayne (Glenda) Dillon, Sister In-Law Virginia Dillon, Son John (Lisa) Dillon, Daughter Susan (Kirk) Wartman, Grandchildren Aubree (Trevor) Cristiani, and Johvan Dillon, Great Granddaughter Blayke Dillon Cristiani, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the Doctor's, and 4th Floor Nurses at St. Alphonsus, Boise, for the loving care they gave to Jim.
