Jesse Ray Pack, 88, of Lubbock, went to be with his Lord on Friday, October 15, 2021. Jesse was born in Roswell, New Mexico on March 28, 1933, the eighth of thirteen children born to Jesse E. and Vada Pack.
Jesse grew up in Roswell and attended Southwestern Bible College in Waxahachie, Texas. While attending college, he was called to serve in the United States Army in Korea. He married Glenda Porter on December 23, 1960, in Roswell, and out of this union were born two daughters, Shari and Angela.
Jesse worked as a dental lab technician for many years until his retirement in 1998. He then enjoyed working as a site manager for Lubbock Self Storage until late 2020. Jesse was a gentle person with a kind and generous heart. He is remembered by others for his quick wit and humor. Most of all, he loved God, family and home. He lived his Christian faith by helping those in need. He felt closely connected to nature and spent a lot of time outdoors admiring and observing God's wondrous creation. He had a life-long passion for trout fishing and also enjoyed bird watching.
He is survived by Glenda, his devoted wife of 60 years; daughters Shari Stroebel of Denton, Texas and Angela Alspaugh of Lubbock; brother, Douglas Pack of Conroe; grandson, Dillon Stroebel; granddaughter, Aarika Stroebel and a great-granddaughter, Teagen Roebuck. He was preceded in death by his parents and eleven siblings.
Visitation for Jesse will be held from 2 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Combest Family Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 5:30 PM to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Turning Point Community Church, 11202 Quaker Avenue in Lubbock, with Reverend David Savage, of Trinity Church, officiating . Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
