Jesse James Brown Jr. was born on September 8th, 1934 at home in Tuckasegee, NC to Jesse Brown and Danie (Mathis) Brown. He was the youngest, the baby of the family. He had a sister Ernastein, who was older and a older brother, Cornell. Jesse lived in NC and went to school where he met the love of his life, Barbara Dills. They were married 29 years. At 21 years old in 1955 he and his wife moved from NC to Darrington. He first was a bouncer for Bonnie Metcalf at the Tavern. He then went to work at the Plywood Mill in Darrington. In 1961 Jesse went to work for Sam Forrister as a log truck driver and he drove truck until he hurt his back in a logging truck accident in 1998, then retired. Jesse loved to fish, hunt, camp, work on cars, listen to bluegrass music, mushroom pick with his longtime friend Odell, be outside, and race cars. But most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and help anyone who ever needed help. Jesse was very involved in AA and helped many people in the AA meetings and home group. He celebrated 37 years sober on 4/20/1983! He also loved to travel. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Brown, parents Jessie and Danie Brown, siblings Ernastein and Cornell, and his grandson Dylan Brown. He leaves behind his two sons Dennis (Joann) Brown and Doug (Shirley Wagoner) Brown, 6 grandchildren Michelle/CJ Anderson, Melissa Brown and Jake Parris, Sherrilee Brown, Jeremy Brown, Alex Brown, and 9 great-grandchildren Cameron, Jace, Jazzlynn, Jordan, Dominick, Lucas, Brayden, Jaquelynn, Arora, plus one on the way. He also leaves behind his companion of 37 years, Linda Mount and her daughters Patty (Chad) White, Jeannie (Nate) Brooks, and bonus grandkids Jake (Sammy) Moore and Brantley.
