Jesse Lane Headley went home to his heavenly Father on January 3, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. Jesse was born March 30, 1940, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Ray and Nellie Headley. He married Betty Lou Walker on May 27, 1960, in Lubbock, Texas. He was a member of the Church Christ, attending Northside Church of Christ and South Plains Church of Christ. His career with U-Joints, Inc. began in 1971 and spanned over forty years when he retired as General Manager. Jess was a devoted husband, loving father and very proud Papa. He and Betty loved to travel. Jess loved playing golf and teaching his grandsons. He loved sports and was co-captain of the football team at Lubbock High School. He was a devoted fan of the Red Raiders, Dallas Cowboys, and San Francisco Giants. His passion in life was telling people about the love that God has for them. He found joy and meaning in the Kairos Ministry and Higher Ground Ministry where he humbly served or in his words "washed feet" for many years. He is preceded in death by his father, Ray Headley, mother Nellie Headley, brother, Roy Rowe, sister, Rubilee Ledford, and brother, Max Headley. Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Marie McDaniel, his devoted wife of 60 years, Betty Headley, his four children, Mike Headley, Heather Williams, Tim Headley, and Andra Headley and their spouses, as well as 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Jess leaves behind a legacy of love for his family and his God, and a lifetime of generosity to any in need. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Lubbock or the South Plains Food Bank. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Dr. Charles Stephenson officiating.
