Jesse Cruz Arguellez, 46, of Cuero passed away Friday, December 9, 2022. He was born May 22, 1976 in Cuero to the late Jose Francisco Arguellez and Gloria Gonzales Berger. He joined the United States Army in 1994 in the 42nd Airborne Paratrooper division. Jesse worked in the oilfield as a floor hand and as a diesel mechanic. He was a hard working man who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his grandmother, Antonia Cervantes Gonzales; sisters, Virginia Arguellez Villarreal and Nina McKinney; brothers, Gary G. Villarreal Sr. and Joey (Kaitlyn) Garibay; nieces, Julieana A. Arguellez, Hayley A. Barbontin, Gabriella A. Villarreal, Jaslynn A. Ochoa and Kensley Garibay; nephews, Jaden C. Barraza, Jagger Jesse Diebel, Jaxson A. Diebel, Christian A. Villarreal, Gary G. Villarreal Jr., Maddox Drake Villarreal and Jonah Garibay.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Cruz Gonzales Sr., Porfirio Arguellez Sr. and Juanita Banda Arguellez.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 16, 2022, 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A rosary will recited at 1:30 PM with the funeral Mass beginning at 2 PM with Father Richard Bediako officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Christopher Arguellez, Marty Hernandez, Ascencion Arguellez, Steven Rawlinson, Leonicio Delagarza Jr., Mario Arguellez Jr., Eddie Arguellez and Marvin Ramsey.
Honorary Pallbearers include James Moreno, Robert Arguellez, Jermaine Brown, Rome McNary, Steven Salines, Jerry Gonzales, Rodney Mathis and Reggie McNary.
