Jerry Lee Stidam, 76, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022. He was born on February 25, 1946 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Ernest Stidam and Marion (Dinklocker) Wilkins. On November 19, 1966, he married Joy (Huff) Stidam, who passed away on January 13, 2011 after forty-fours years of marriage. He was a Vietnam Veteran who retired from the United States Navy after eighteen years of service as a Corpsman. Jerry was an Indiana University Southeast graduate; and went on to spend the majority of his working career at the Veterans Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky working as a lab technician for thirty years. He was a member of the Underwood Baptist Church in Underwood, Indiana. He was an avid runner, many times you would see him running on highway 31. His favorite hobbies included attending his grandchildren's Scott County 4-H, cross-country, track, soccer, marching band events, and taking family vacations to Sarasota, Florida. In addition to his parents and wife, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Carpenter; and brother, Terry Stidam. Survivors include son, Dr. Jeffrey M. (Rena) Stidam of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; daughter, Lara R. (Roy) Binkley of Scottsburg, Indiana; eight siblings, Rheba Robison of Scottsburg, Indiana, Carl (Sue) Stidam of Scottsburg, Indiana, Judy Woodward of Indianapolis, Indiana, Carolyn (John) Grimes of Azle, Texas, Larry (Rhonda) Stidam of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Kay Slaten of Paoli, Indiana, Ronnie Stidam of Columbus, Indiana, and Sherri (Tom) Mays of Paoli, Indiana; and four grandchildren, Allison (Darrin) Tennis, Addison Binkley, and Skylar and Julia Stidam. Funeral Service: 4:00 pm Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Collins Funeral Home with Kris Slaten officiating. Visitation: 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm Wednesday prior to services at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Interment at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
