Jerry L. Rivere was born in Ralls, Texas to Joe and Delphine Rivere on December 31, 1939. He passed away from this life on April 2, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 64 years and 10 months, Ann Rivere, two children, Lynn Rivere Coursey and husband, James and A.J. Rivere; Preceded in death by one son Benjamin Rivere. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, a sister, JoAnn Vincent, extended family, nieces and nephews. He was a veteran, proud of his service, and U.S. Postal employee of 38 years of which he was also proud. Those are the facts, but that does not begin to describe the good, decent, honorable man that Jerry was. He dearly loved and has devoted his life to his wife and family. He raised three good children, helped raise three good grandchildren, and was in the process of helping raise two more. He also mentored and helped raise numerous "adopted" children as he and Ann referred to them. He coached Little League Baseball for seventeen years, and they always had a boat, camping gear and a cabin. They always had room for one more and their house was the gathering place for the neighborhood kids, and friends, as well as family. He was loved respected, and will be sorely missed.
Jerry's family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Sanders Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023 in Sanders Memorial Chapel.
