Jerry Lester Pace of McAllen, Texas passed away at the age of 79 on Sunday, May 9, 2021.
Jerry left behind a legacy with both his family and the business he built. Jerry was a very successful man, but if you asked him what accomplishment he was most proud of, his answer would be his family. Jerry married his best friend, Beth, and they shared a love most people aspire to. He was a model father to his 4 children, showing them unconditional love, the necessity and benefits of hard work, and what it meant to be a nurturing husband, father, and friend. He adored his kids and loved watching them play sports as they grew up. He was their biggest fan.
Jerry knew no stranger and welcomed anyone and everyone into his home and heart with open arms. He was a teller of stories and most days you could find him sitting at "The Round Table" of Tom and Jerry's enjoying happy hour, watching a TCU football game, and chatting with his friends and family. Quality time with the people he cared about is what mattered the most to him. Through his family, his businesses, and his involvement in the community he created lifelong relationships with amazing people he loved very much, who became an extension of the Pace family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Dorothy Pace of Fort Worth, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 38 years Beth Dahl Pace; their children: Cody, Catey, and Cory Pace, Casey Bickerton (Austin), and two grandchildren: Kailani Pace and Beau Bickerton. In addition, Jerry leaves his sister, Diane Pace, a nephew, Rod Pace, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial celebration for Jerry will be held on Saturday, May 22nd, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church Pavillion on 1600 W. Harvey Avenue in McAllen, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be sent to Friends of RGV Reef at rgvreef.org.
