Jerry Millsaps

Jerry "Daredevil" Millsaps, 78, of Riceville, TN passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

Jerry was of the Methodist faith. He served over 32 years in Law Enforcement, retiring as a Tennessee Highway Patrol Lieutenant within the Chattanooga district. He served a brief time in the Army until he was medically discharged. Jerry was a master Mason with Reliance Lodge #636.

In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors. Jerry was an avid sportsman from the day he was born until he passed. He loved to hunt, fish, and farm. He was a loving dad, papaw, and friend to many. He impacted several lives, always being kind and generous to everyone, even when others wouldn't.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Skiver and Hollis Millsaps; sons, James Jeffery Millsaps and Wesley Leon Millsaps; brother, Dale Millsaps; sisters, Unita Hicks and Patsy Jenkins.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Michelle Millsaps; grandchildren, James "Little J" Millsaps, Makayla Jones and spouse, Jacob Jones; brothers and sister-in-law, Herman and Margie Millsaps, Joe Millsaps; nieces, Tammy Jenkins and Teresa Rodgers; several other nieces and nephews, special sons, Greg "Goober" Edwards and William Hayes; many beloved extended family members.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2024, in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Caleb Leamon officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at 9:00 a.m., Monday, January 29th at the funeral home and proceed to Brown Hill Cemetery for the 10:30 a.m. committal service.
