Jerry Albert Johnson passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, at the age of 88. He was the loving husband of Nancy N. Johnson, with whom he shared 69 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Lexington, North Carolina, Jerry was the son of Luther Odell Johnson and Lena Koontz. He graduated from North Davidson High School and went on to earn his degree from Wake Forest University. In 1955, Jerry and Nancy married and moved to Charlotte in 1967, to build a life together. He co-founded a successful business in information technology alongside his partners, Mack Pigg and Stan Brookshire, in 1968. Their company grew to employ over 150 people across multiple locations. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his two children, Robbie J. Cooper and Jeffrey Odell Johnson; seven grandchildren, Jason, Taylor, Ashley, Joshua, Alina, David, and Shaina (who passed on November 20, 2012); and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored. Jerry had a deep love for his family and cherished every moment spent with them. He especially enjoyed golfing with the boys and playing basketball with his great-grandchildren. He was happiest when surrounded by those he loved.
