Jerry Don Caddel died surrounded by family at his home in Lubbock, TX at 2:10 am on December 27, 2021 after battling pancreatic cancer.
Jerry was born to Elmer George and Wilma Jean Caddel on May 11, 1949 in Amarillo TX. The family moved to Olton, TX in 1960, and Jerry graduated from Coronado High School in Lubbock, TX in 1967. He earned a B.A. from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Odessa, TX in 1975 and a J.D. from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA in 1980. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1981, and practiced law for 40 years, primarily in Odessa, TX, including eight years as Ector County Judge from 1999-2007.
He is survived by his wife, Lee Ann Caddel of Lubbock, TX; his children, Jeremy Caddel, Lindsay Sloan and husband Tanner Sloan, and Ryan Elam; his grandchildren, Riley, Chloe, Avery, and Logan Elam, Andrew and Zoey Caddel, and Vance and Brooks Sloan; his sister, Sherry and husband Guy Gilson; his brothers, Bill and wife Judy, Larry and wife Cindy, Ronny and wife Karen, Tom and wife Linda, and Brian Eyler; and his dog, Callie.
Per Jerry's wishes, there will be no memorial; those who wish to honor his memory may make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project.
