Jerry Allen Burdick, 69, died July 16, 2022, at his home. He was born September 29, 1952, in Hutchinson, to Ralph and Ellen (Todd) Burdick.
Jerry graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1970, and served in the Kansas Army National Guard. He was a machinist for various companies, retiring from Boeing after 20 years of service. Jerry was an avid coin collector and a talented musician who could play any musical instrument by ear. In his early years, Jerry played his guitar in the band, “Dante and the Infernos”.
On March 29, 1972, he married Susan Krause, in Hutchinson. They shared 51 years of marriage.
Jerry is survived by: his wife, Susan Burdick of South Hutchinson; children, Rachel Swartz (John) of McAllen, TX, and Joshua Burdick (Celestina) of Hutchinson; daughter-in-law, Shauna Burdick; mother-in-law, Teena Krause, both of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jessica Swartz, Nickolaus Swartz, Matthew Swartz, Khayden McElhany, and Stephen Burdick; great-grandchildren, Raviyn, Kloe, and Alivia; sisters, Sharon Burns (Bob) of Wichita and Connie Crow (Fred) of Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Jeremy Allen Burdick; and a grandson, Lucas Swartz.
The family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Elliott Mortuary. There will be a short celebration of life service at 2:30 p.m., with military honors conducted by the Kansas Army National Guard.
