Jerry Lynn Bryant born November 26, 1951, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on October 28, 2023.
Jerry was a 1970 graduate of CE King High School. After high school, he served in the 23rd Infantry, Americal Division of the United States Military. He was honorably discharged in June 1971, earning the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star; National Defense Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge; Air Medal; Army Commendation Medal; and the Rifle Sharpshooter Medal. While proudly serving his country, he married his high school sweetheart Gail, in September 1970 and started his family. In 1977 he found a forever home in Willis, Texas on Lake Conroe. There they built a home together, raised their children, and he fished every chance he got. At one time, Jerry even held the lake record bass.
Jerry worked endlessly laying carpet as a trade he learned from his father until he finally retired in 2010. He met many lifelong friends as a co-owner of a convenience store, P&J's. He never met a stranger. When at P&J's, he would talk for hours telling fish stories and even met some famous faces.
Jerry spent his final years traveling with his wife and friends, teaching his grandkids how to fish, and hunt, how to be strong women, and respectful men. The strong family values he incorporated will forever be passed on through generations. He will be greatly missed by all his family, his friends and his bonus kids he has welcomed through the years.
Jerry was preceded in death by his loving parents, Homer and Modenia Bryant, and his brother Samuel Bryant. Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gail Snow Bryant, his daughters, Tammy Houser and husband Shane, Christy Bryant, grandkids Corbin Bryant and wife Casey, Kyli Bolea, Joshua Houser, and great grandson Nilen Williams.
