Jerrie L. Schinske, 81, of Berrien Center, MI passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 9123 George St., Berrien Springs, MI with Pastor Douglas Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Caldwell Cemetery in Eau Claire. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs or Michigan Lutheran High School. Jerrie was born March 25, 1940 in Baroda, MI to Gerald & Lucille (Storick) Vanderboegh. On July 30, 1983 she married Henry Schinske in Bridgman, MI. Jerrie was the owner of Golden Pond Restaurant & Farm Market in Berrien Center for many years. She was involved in many endeavors over the years whether it was farming, running the Cheese Store at the South Bend Farmers Market, or helping her husband with his business, Henry's Custom Dozer Service. Jerrie was a founding member of the OWLS, a charity which raises money to provide for children's scholarships to Trinity Lutheran Grade School and Michigan Lutheran High School. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs where she participated in many activities including Ladies Aid. When Jerrie was not working, she enjoyed traveling, raising Golden Retrievers, and entertaining family and friends.
Jerrie is survived by her husband Henry Schinske; children Jeffery (Michelle Jambor) Marks, Ellen (Kevin) Hasse, Diane (John) Smith and Kathryn (Bill) Decker; six stepchildren Diane, Karen, Linda, Cheryl, Kathy and Heidi; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters Joan Silverthorn and Elizabeth (Jerry) Squyres; brother-in-law Richard Marks. Jerrie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings William, Jack, Donald and Coral Mae.
