Jenny Durante

Jenny Durante passed away of natural causes on September 26, 2020 at the age of 96. She was a strong woman who lived a very full life and loved being surrounded by friends and family. Jenny always sought to find humor in life and always knew how to put a smile on our faces. She loved Betty Boop, cooking delicious Italian meals & cookies, cake decorating, sewing, and was always there to help others. Jenny was a devoted catholic who laid the foundation of faith and religion in the upbringing of her family. She was an elementary school Catechism educator at St. Charles Catholic School and was a charter member of the Italian Catholic Federation; charter member of I.C.F. 229 in Chula Vista, CA and founding member of I.C.F. 383 in Imperial Beach, CA.

Jenny is lovingly remembered by her three children; daughters Mary & Tina Durante, and son John Durante; her three grandchildren, James & Anthony Durante and Thomas DeSantis; and four great-grandchildren; Lea & John David Durante and Joseph & Victoria DeSantis of San Diego, CA.

Jenny was born on March 5, 1924 in Highland Park, Michigan and graduated from Fordson High School on June 17, 1943. On May 4th, 1947 she met Jimmy (Orlando) Durante and the couple married on April 24, 1948. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Jimmy Durante (WWII Vet) of 53 years.
