Charles Carroll
Jennie (Stratas) Douds, 98, was called to her eternal rest on August 6, 2018, at home in Oxnard California under the care of her Daughter and Granddaughter, after a lengthy illness. She was born to Emanuel George Stratas and Catherine (Reich) Stratas on June 28, 1920, in West Virginia.
Jennie married Van F. Douds in 1943. They were happily married for 60 years until Van passed in 2003. Jennie was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and gardening. She had a at home daycare for 20+ years once her husband retired from the Air Force.
She is survived by her daughter, Grace Ratliff of Oxnard, Ca.; Granddaughter Vanessa and husband John Eberle Sr., Great-grandson John Jr. and Great-granddaughter Natalie Eberle, all of Ventura, Ca. Her brother, George and wife Flora Bea Stratas of Oxnard, Ca. Many extended relatives and friends will miss her dearly.
Many thanks to the amazing staff of Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association (Hospice division) for their wonderful care and dedication for our Jennie the last 1 1/2 years of her life.
