Jenna Ellen Melanson 37, of Brooklyn, NY. passed away suddenly at home on March 9, 2021. Jenna was born on February 17, 1984 in North Adams the daughter Suzanne Sinclitico Salerno of North Adams and Dean Melanson of Greenville, NY.
Jenna spent most of her life in North Adams and Hancock, MA. She graduated from Mt. Greylock High School in 2002 and graduated from MCLA with the class of 2006. After college she worked in the North Adams School System as a teacher's aide. Jenna interest was working with special need children. In 2017 Jenna moved to New York City to further her education attending Brooklyn College and received an advance autism certification. In 2019 Jenna was excepted into the masters of social work program at Fordham University where she would of graduated from in May. This was her lifelong dream of be able to "Save the World" and help others who were less fortunate then she was. Anyone who knew Jenna knew of her willingness to help others and always go the extra mile. She had a crazy laugh and a love for politics. Jena leaves her wife Jaimie (Jones) Melanson of Brooklyn, NY. who she married September 22, 2017. Survivors also include her brother Chad Melanson and his wife Gift and their daughter Brianna of Norwell, MA., two aunts Diane Dickerman and her husband Charlie of Murrells Inlet, SC. and Julie Hanify of North Adams, who Jenna lived with for several years in Hancock and her grandmother Carol Melanson of Vermont. She was predeceased by her grandparents Louis "Pappa" and Constance "Nonnie" Sinclitico, aunt Joan Brightman and grandfather Lloyd Melanson and step father Joe Salerno.
A calling hour will take place Friday March 26, 2021 from 1PM to 2PM at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, MA. Memorial donations are suggested for raisethefuture.org .
