Jeffrey G. Plourde, 78, of Manchester, NH, died October 14, 2021, after a brief illness.
Born in Caraquet, New Brunswick, on October 22, 1942, he was the second youngest of eleven children of Joseph and Josephine (Hebert) Plourde. He resided in the Queen City most of his life.
Jeffrey was employed with Central Paper. Afterwards, he was a crossing guard with the City of Manchester for thirty years and a custodian at Saint Joseph Cathedral, Manchester.
Deeply devoted to his faith, he was an active communicant of Saint Anthony Church, and had also served as an usher at Saint Joseph Cathedral. Jeffrey held membership in the Legion of One Thousand Men of the Monastery of the Precious Blood.
He will be remembered for his servant heart, loyalty, and selfless ways. Jeffrey loved his Manchester community. He served and helped whenever and wherever he was needed. His life was defined by the qualities of dignity, humor, respect for others, and above all else, love for his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and p?pere. He enjoyed gardening, music and flea markets. Those who knew him will never forget his gift of artful conversation. Jeffrey leaves a rich legacy of love, compassion, kindness, generosity, and faith. He was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, as he left an indelible mark on every single life that he touched. Jeffrey will be deeply missed and his memory held dear by his family, friends, and community.
Family members include his beloved wife of forty-two years, Colette D. (Brady) Plourde; his son, Jeffrey Plourde and his wife, Nancy, of Manchester; a granddaughter, Bridget; three sisters, Estelle, Annette, and Gloria, all of Canada; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Paul Plourde.
Services: Calling hours are Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 4 to 7 PM at the Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH.
The funeral will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021, with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Saint Joseph Cathedral, 145 Lowell Street, Manchester.
Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Bedford, NH.
