On April 23, 2022. Jeffrey Hiroshi Doi passed away peacefully at his home in Sacramento, California, surrounded by his family. Jeffrey was born on October 23, 1991 in Mountain View, California.
Jeffrey grew up in San Jose, California and graduated from Willow Glen High School in 2009, where he was a member of the wrestling team. Jeffrey was a member of Boy Scout Troop 611 where he attained the rank of Eagle. Jeffrey attended the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin, where he participated in Lotus Preschool, Dharma School, and Jr YBA. Upon graduation, Jeffrey attended Sacramento State University for two years, then decided that he would rather pursue a career in the trades. He worked initially doing Heating, Air Conditioning and Ventilation (HVAC). Later, he was accepted into the apprentice program with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 340 in Sacramento. He enjoyed working for electrical contractors in Sacramento while he continued his training.
Although his life was short, Jeffrey lived a full life on his own terms. He did his share of traveling which included Europe, Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii. He enjoyed being outdoors and outdoor activities. Jeffrey was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. Those who loved him appreciated his sense of humor and his kindness. He will be missed immensely.
Jeffrey is survived by his parents Steven and Janice Doi of San Jose, brother Michael Doi and sister-in-law Irene Antonio Doi of San Jose, and grandmother Kyoko Nakao of Santa Clara, as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Predeceased by his grandparents Iwao Nakao of Santa Clara and George and Ruby Doi of Salt Lake City.
Private services have been held at the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin. Jeffrey will be interred near his grandfather, Iwao Nakao, in the Nirvana Room at the Mountain View Buddhist Temple.
