SOUTH BEND- Jefferey Allen Perman, 49, of South Bend, died Thursday June 17, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend surrounded by his family. He was born October 20, 1971, in Elkhart to Larry L. and Cathleen (Swegan) Perman.
Surviving is a daughter, Ash-lee (Daniel) Townsend of Elkhart, 1 grandson Killian Townsend and 1 granddaughter Willow Townsend. Also surviving is his mother and stepfather Cathleen (Ronald) Perman-Kiess of Decatur, IN and 2 siblings Joice A. Perman and Jeremy A. Perman both of Three Rivers, MI. He was preceded in death by his father.
Jefferey was formerly employed as a cook and upholster in Elkhart and South Bend. He attended the Decatur Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, enjoyed playing pool, camping and in high school he played football and played the saxophone in the marching band. Jeff was an avid chess player, having won numerous awards earlier in life. He was known as the protector of the family, was very caring, thoughtful and was very enthusiastic.
Cremation will take place and a celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday July 6, 2021, at the Open Door Christian Fellowship, 51586 C.R. 5, Elkhart, IN 46514.
Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with his care. Memorial contributions may be given to Fresenius Medical Care foundation.
