On Saturday, June 4, 2022, Jeannie (Carol) Campbell was welcomed home by her heavenly Father, whom she had lovingly and faithfully served all of her earthly life. Until her final moments, she praised Him for his goodness to her.Jeannie was born in Punxsutawney on Oct. 7, 1947, to Virginia (Hewitt) Carol and George Carol, Sr., who both preceded her in death.On Oct. 10, 1970, Jeannie married the love of her life, Merle "Mac" Campbell, who survives. Together, they shared 51 years of marriage, a fact both were so proud to tell others.Jeannie was an active member of the Woodland Avenue United Methodist Church, where she served on various committees, sang in a performance group and gave generously of all she had. Most important to her was the "Bazaar for all Seasons," which Jeannie started over 25 years ago and continued to lead until last year. Jeannie also worked tirelessly for the church's food pantry.Jeannie provided daycare for over 100 children in the area over a period of 20 years. Many of the children have kept in touch with her through the years and still send her cards.Jeannie loved spending time with her family most of all. She also loved to cook, craft and garden.Jeannie is survived by her husband and two daughters, Barbara Schall and husband Steven and LeAnn Whitfield and husband Corey, both of Punxsutawney. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Milea Reynolds and husband Adam, Emily Thompson and husband Eli, Brady Schall, Ala Ingros and husband Eric; Copeland Whitfield and Graci Whitfield; and three great-grandchildren, Calla, Lana and Judah Reynolds.Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at the Woodland Avenue United Methodist Church.A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Doug Wolfe officiating.Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Punxsutawney.Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mrs. Campbell, to the Woodland Avenue United Methodist Church or to the Crosstown Food Pantry, 201 Woodland Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.Online condolences may be made at www.deeleyfuneralhome.com.
