Jeannette Helen Holers, 92, of Napoleon, died Thursday, August 18, 2022, at the Genacross Lutheran Services nursing home in Napoleon. She was born May 17, 1930, in Gerald in Henry County, the daughter of John F. and Ruth (Kline) Gerken. She married Vernon W. Holers on November 26, 1950, at St. John Lutheran Church in Freedom Township. Vernon preceded her in death April 3, 2005, after 54 years of marriage.
Jeannette is survived by a son, Michael (Jill) Holers of Denver, Colorado; a daughter, Julia (Jeff) Pierron of Westerville, Ohio; two sisters, Rosella (Malcolm} Helberg and Karen (Don) Maassel, both of Napoleon; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Ada Gerken; a son, Jeffrey Holers; two brothers, Howard (Peggy) Gerken and Kenneth (Alice) Gerken; two sisters, Marlene (Russell) Patterson and Jane (Bob) Schmeckpeper; and an infant sister who died at birth.
Jeannette was a 1948 graduate of Ridgeville High School and was employed for many years by the Henry County Bank as a bookkeeper. She was a longtime member and volunteer at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, and was treasurer of the Ladies Mission Society.
Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Sunday, August 21, 2022, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Funeral services for Mrs. Holers will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, on Monday, August 22, 2022, at 10:30 AM with an hour of visitation prior to services. Interment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. www.stpaulnapoleon.org/giving.
