Jeanne S. Williams Horrocks

Jeanne Shirley Horrocks, age-97, passed away November 26, 2024 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH where her husband was administrator from 1974-1979. She was born November 9, 1927 in Kingston, NY, daughter of the late Charles Henry Williams and Mary M. (Wacker) Williams.

Jeanne grew up on a vegetable farm in New York and she was one of twelve children in her family of which 10 lived to adulthood. Jeanne married the love of her life, Harold Hart Horrocks and they raised three children together, Patricia, William, and John. Jeanne was a graduate of the Kingston City Hospital, School of Nursing. She was a longtime nurse at the Presbyterian Hospital in New York, a surgical nurse at Porter Hospital in Middlebury from 1969-1974 and Exeter Hospital where she retired from after 20 years of service. Jeanne and Harold were longtime residents of Middlebury, VT. before moving to Exeter, NH.

Jeanne was a devoted member of the Christ Episcopal Church of Exeter and in her youth was a member of 4H.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband on July 4, 1995, and seven of her siblings.

Jeanne is survived by her 3 children, Patricia Horrocks, William Harold Horrocks, John Charles Horrocks, four granddaughters and several great-grandchildren, one brother, Gerard Williams, one sister, Norma Holzer and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held for the family in the spring of 2025 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Herkimer, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the music department at Christ Episcopal Church, 43 Pine St., Exeter, NH 03833.
