Jeanne Gerde, age 75, passed away on November 23, 2021, suddenly at home in Mount Vernon, WA. Jeanne was born on March 21, 1946, the oldest of three children born to Maria and Peter Fedosenko in Kiel, Germany. The Fedosenko family lived in Forbach, France. In 1954 they filed paperwork with the Refugee Relief Act through World Council of churches. This ended up being a two-year process of vetting. In 1956 the family traveled to New York and then to Seattle, Washington sponsored through the Seattle Russian-American Society for Aid to Displaced Persons. After arriving in Seattle, the Fedosenko family resided in the Stoneway neighborhood. Jeanne would graduate from Lincoln High School in Seattle. The family was active members of Saint Spiridon Russian Orthodox Church. She went on a blind date with what would be her future husband Ronald Lee Gerde and they were married December 10, 1967. The newlyweds settled in Seattle and would have two children Andrew and Lisa. Jeanne had a passion for entertaining in her home and hosting events especially during the holidays. She loved to volunteer at the Lincoln Theatre where her grandson Adrian would perform with local theatre groups. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who came across her. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents Maria and Peter. She is survived by her husband Ron Gerde, son Andrew Gerde of Seattle, daughter Lisa Lane (Scott) of Mount Vernon and grandson Adrian Lane of Bellingham, sisters Alla Kuehn of Eatonville and Louisa Fedosenko of Everett, nieces and nephews and let's not forget, Jeanne's furry granddaughter Paris. Viewing will be held at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, WA on Monday, December 6, 2021, at 10:00am. A graveside service will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Park, Mount Vernon, WA on Monday, December 6, 2021, at 11:00am with a reception to follow in the Hawthorne Funeral Home reception room.
