Jeanne Carter Passes at Age 91. Her kind heart, joyful smile and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Jeanne Carter, a cherished member of the community, wife, mother of four, grandmother to five and great grand-mother of three, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2021. She was 91.
A generous supporter of many causes, Jeanne's volunteer work included serving meals at the St. Augustine's Hunger Center in Cleveland, preparing food supplies for the St. Anthony Food Pantry in Parma, and assisting retired nuns at Mount Augustine in Richfield.
Jeanne was an advocate for children living in communities of need. She graciously supported the "Beds for Kids" program dedicated to providing new furniture and bedding for children. Jeanne was also a long-standing member of the Secular Order of Franciscans.
Born to Marguerite and Harold Petit on July 12, 1930 in Wadsworth, OH, Jeanne is survived by children Joan (Mark) Nida, Rick (Debbie) Carter, Anne (Tom) Terranova, Cathy (Glenn Hall) Carter, grandchildren Megan (Dustin) Shammo, Scott Terranova, Michael (Amber) Terranova, Nicholas Terranova, great-grandchildren Riley, Nolan and Sadie Shammo, brother Thomas (Rita) Petit, sister Mary Francis (Dick) Buehrle.
Jeanne was preceded in passing by her husband Thomas Carter and grandson Benjamin Nida, as well as her parents.
A celebration of Jeanne's life will take place Friday, September 3 at Our Lady Help-Christian Parish Seville Community in Seville, OH.

? 60 High St., Seville, OH 44273 (masks encouraged)
? 11:00am-12:00pm: Visit with the family at the Our Lady Help-Christian Parish (coffee provided)
? 12:00pm-1:00pm: Family departs for a private burial (those wishing to join are welcome)
? 1:00pm -2:00pm: Burial service at Resurrection Cemetery 6303 Center Rd. (Ohio State Route 303) Valley City, Medina County OH 44280
