Jeanne Marie Denys Ament of Menomonee Falls and Egg Harbor, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Aurora BayCare in Green Bay.
She was born on January 16, 1939 in Green Bay, daughter of Glen and Thelma (Libert) Denys, sister of Janet. She graduated from St. Joseph Cathedral in Green Bay and Boston College, majoring in education. She worked as an elementary school teacher in Green Bay and Milwaukee. She married F. Thomas Ament, and they had three children.
A lifetime sports fan, Jeanne accompanied her father to Packer games growing up. She very rarely missed any game in which her children or grandchildren played. She was a bowler and bridge player. Jeanne adored music and theater, especially when her daughter and grandchildren performed. She loved the steel drums at Birch Creek and attending the Peninsula Music Festival.
Jeanne loved to travel. Summers in Door County were her favorite. She encouraged family and friends to visit for shopping, dining, concerts, driving through Peninsula State Park, ice cream cones, and laughter. Jeanne was known for her sense of humor, and entertaining stories. She volunteered her time, talents, and treasure to numerous organizations including League of Women Voters, Saint Jude Church and School, and the Froedtert Eye Institute. For decades, she donated blood every six weeks and regularly donated platelets.
Jeanne is survived by her three children, Chris (Anne) Ament, Peter (Deanna) Ament, and Jennifer (Mark) Moeller; grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, and Joe; the Brannon children and their families; her sister, Janet Broderick; and her nieces and nephews.
