Jeanette Anona Baier was born on March 13, 1931 in Yakima, WA to Stephen and
Anona Smith, and was the second oldest of 4 children, one brother and two sisters. She grew up in Sunnyside, WA and graduated from Sunnyside High School in the class of 1949. Later moving to Seattle, WA to attend Business College where she met Edwin Baier on a blind date. In 1951, they married and eventually settled in Brier, WA to raise their 3 children. Jeanette passed away on February 23, 2021, 2 1/2 weeks shy of her 90th birthday.
Before becoming a mother in 1956 to Jeff, Jeanette worked for the Army as a Civil Service Employee at the Port of Embarkation in Seattle, WA. She then dedicated her career to being a mother to Jeff; Cindy (1962), and Mark (1965) as well as a great wife to Ed. She and Ed traveled the world throughout their marriage and she enjoyed all the places they visited, although her heart was never far from Hawaii which she enjoyed the very most.
She was a long time member of St Matthew Lutheran Church in Edmonds, WA serving many years on the Mission Guild there making many close friends through that service.In later years Jeanette joined Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Lynnwood, WA.
Ed and Jeanette were married nearly 70 years. She leaves behind her husband Ed, sister Julie Wilson (Ray), sister-in-law Louise Koch, children Jeff (Kathy), Cindy Eaton, Mark (Kim). Eight grandchildren: Terra Yonker (Ryan), Eddie Baier (Jocelyn), Nick Baier (Tara), Michele Creed (Mark), Brett Eaton, Jordan Rogers (Will), Sam Baier (Chelsea) and Alex Baier. Nine great grandchildren with another coming in May, and numerous nieces and nephews, especially her Goddaughter Peggy Smith.
Jeanette was predeceased by her parents, her sister Nancy and her brother Steve.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jeanette's name to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church or to Seattle Children's Hospital. A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a future date.
