Loie Jean Trantham, 95, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at The Arbor in Ridgeland, MS. She was born April 26, 1929, to David and Jessie Moorhead. She was an active member of Wheeler Baptist Church serving as organist, church clerk, and Sunday School teacher for many years. She retired from Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after 25 years. Then, became president of the BMH Volunteers, and served many years.
A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Wheeler Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Shook and Bro. Marty Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Jumpertown Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church. Services are under the direction of McMillan Funeral Home.
She is survived by two sons, Terry (Angie) Trantham and Tommy (Tracey) Trantham; two daughters, Pam (Randy) Scoggins and Patricia (Wes) Smith; one sister-in-law, Esther Moorhead; four grandchildren, Beth (Marcus) Threadgill, Jennie Clayton, Kristin Whitley and Hunter (Ashlynne) Trantham; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Irvin Trantham in 2020; her parents; one sister, Emma Lee Bartholow; three brothers, Dwight, Doyle and Bob Moorhead.
