Jean F. Reich, age 93, passed away quietly on April 30, 2024 while residing at the Wood Village Nursing home in Sweetwater, TN. As one of the earliest residents of Tellico Village, Jean and her husband Jack loved living in the Toqua neighborhood after retiring from the Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, Michigan. Jean had been very active in various village groups including, but not limited to, a beautification gardening group that planted flowers at neighborhood entries, the Chrysler Club, and the local theater where Jean participated in many staged productions over the years. Jean and her husband Jack worked together at the Good Neighbors Shoppe for over 20 years. Jean was also a devoted member of the Tellico Village Community Church since its inception and a past member of the choir. She also loved to travel, having the opportunity to visit many locations in the United States and countries in Europe.
Jean is survived by her husband Jack, her son Scott (Heidi), granddaughter Heather (Jackson), grandson Christopher (Elisa) great grand daughter Autumn, and great granddaughter Gemma. In addition she was also loved by Jack's family, sons Philip (Doreen), Jackie (Norma), Gary (Cheryl), Ross (Lynn), and daughters Karen, and Kathy (Richard).
The family would also like to acknowledge Colleen Welka who in the past few months has provided Jean, and Jack, with compassionate support as a caregiver while Jean was at the nursing home.
A memorial service will be held at the Tellico Community Church at 11:00 AM on June 17, 2024. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers remembrances be made to the Tellico Community Church.
