Jean (Peterson) Muangman,72, longtime resident of Wethersfield, beloved wife of Pongsa-Pyn Muangman M.D., passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 20, 2018, surrounded by the family she so dearly loved. She was born in New Britain, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Norman H. Peterson and Dorothy C. Peterson. She attended Berlin High School and graduated in 1963. Afterwards, she went on to graduate in 1966 from New Britain General Hospital School of Nursing where she began her career in Intensive Care Nursing. In 1969, she married the love of her life Pong and they began to create the big family she always wanted. She took pride in her children and always pushed them to strive for the best. She created perfection (knitting, crocheting, crafting, sewing, and even wedding planning) with everything she put her mind to. She also had a joy for singing, laughing, fashion, decorating , traveling and antiquing. A beloved mother and grandmother (also known as "Mimi"), Jean is survived by her 5 children & 13 grandchildren; Scott & Lauren Muangman of Mclean, VA and their children Lindsay, Logan & Lucas; Steven and Darcie Muangman of Vancouver, Canada and their children Kai & Tristan; Susan and Ryan Burr of Orlando, Florida and their children Taylor, Caden & Dustin; Sarah and Rohit Agarwal of Atlanta, GA and their children Samaya & Neha; and Stacey & Xander van der Wulp of the Netherlands and their children Sienna, Ava & Bella. She is also survived by her brother George N. Peterson and his wife Linda of Lancaster, PA. She will be missed dearly by her family as they cherish the fond memories they have shared with her. Family and friends are invited to come and gather at Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm Street Rocky Hill, CT on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 10am to 11am. A service in celebration of Jean's life will begin at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
