Jean Ouellette Radford, 87, of Henrico, VA, died Sunday, March 2, 2025. She was the wife of Richard A. Radford for 38 years until his death in 2005.

Born in Amesbury, MA, May 14,1937, she was the daughter of the late J. Frederick and Kathleen M. Ouellette. She is survived by one sister Ann Kardek and godson Frederick Kardek of Amesbury, MA.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Radford Demro, and son-in-law, Joseph Demro, of Henrico, VA. She is also survived by her "honorary" son, Nghiep Du, daughter-in-law, Betsy Du, and grandsons Joseph and Nicholas Du. Jean also served as American mom to six Vietnamese refugee children and is connected to that extended family still, especially through her grandson Tam Nguyen.

Jean served as a Captain in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Her last duty station was Fort Richardson in Alaska. She earned three degrees from Boston College, Catholic University, and George Washington University. She retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia where she last worked as a nurse practitioner for the Central Virginia Child Development Clinic in Lynchburg, VA.

When living in Lynchburg, she was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and was a graduate of Msgr. Michael's Spiritual Development Institute. She served as President of the Tabor Retreat Center Board and the Tabor Meditation Garden was dedicated to her, the "Garden Angel."

For the past ten years she was a beloved resident of St. Mary's Woods. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Henrico, VA on March 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. A private committal service at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia VA will occur later.
