Jean Dolores Gandia of Ocala, Florida passed away on February 19, 2022 at the age of 90. She was born on July 27, 1931 in Syracuse New York where she grew up in the suburb of Solvay New York.
She graduated from Solvay High School in 1949.
She worked as a secretary throughout her life beginning with Eastern Milk Producers and Iroquois China. Retiring from the position of Head Secretary for West Genesee Junior High School.
She was actively involved in Solvay United Methodist Church, Bona Fida Hiawatha OES #654 prior to retiring to Ocala, FL where she enjoyed participating in several clubs with in her community.
She is preceded in death by her parents Doris and George Cunningham and Brother Joseph Cunningham.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years Salvador Gandia, her children Donna Bessette, John (Carol) Gandia, Thomas Gandia, along with her adoring grandchildren Christina (Drew) Kaiser, Nick (Maryouri) Gandia, Jonathan Bessette and Samantha Bessette.
Her love of travel took the couple throughout the world from river cruises to foreign excursions. Her interest in reading left a lasting impression on her grandchildren and all who knew her. Her passion and appreciation for gardening was evident in the beauty of the flowers that flourished in all her gardens throughout the years.
The family would like to thank The Life Care Center of Ocala and the associates at The Bridge of Ocala for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
Celebration of life services will be held at a later date. Jean's final resting place will be Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Warners, New York.
