Jean Baker, our mother, grandmother, and friend, died April 30th, 2022, from a long and brave fight with lung cancer. She was 82 years old.
Jean was born in Teton, Idaho, September 13th, 1939, to Floyd and Pearl Baker. She was the second born of three girls; her two sisters were Wanda and Sheila. She grew up on the family farm in Teton and graduated from South Fremont High School in St. Anthony in 1957.
After high school, Jean attended cosmetology school and worked as a hairdresser in Rexburg until 1960. From 1960-1976, Jean worked as meat wrapper, first at Rexburg Food Center and later at Saving Center grocery store in Idaho Falls. In 1984 she began working at Robins Brokerage as a Grocery Territory Sales Manager where she worked until she retired in 2004. After retirement, Jean found her dream job working part-time at Town and Country nursery in Idaho Falls.
Jean returned to Teton in 1980 to be closer to her parents. She loved to garden and had a beautiful, landscaped yard and an impressive vegetable garden. She was a talented artist and painted lovely landscapes. She was an amazing cook, and many friends and family enjoyed her delicious meals. Jean was also an animal lover and had a soft spot for Black Labrador Retriever's and any stray cat that came around her home.
Jean is survived by sisters Wanda Butts and Sheila Crossman. Children Dennis (Heide) Larsen, Art (Mary) Larsen, Adam (Dianna) Larsen, Jennifer (Paul) Bird Schadegg. Grandchildren Brittany (Will) Allred, Andrea (Brandon) Jorgensen, Ashley (Kenny) Jenkins, Mitch Larsen, Brandee (Allen) Mathis, Krystal Larsen, and Wyatt Burnett. Jean is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
Jean is proceeded in death by her mother Pearl Clawson Baker and father Floyd Earl Baker, brothers-in-law Ted Butts and Harrold Crossman.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, May 27th at 11:00 am at Bert Flamm Funeral Home in St. Anthony. A luncheon will follow at Jean's residence in Teton, Idaho.
Interment and graveside services will be held at a later date.
