Joselito "Jay" Roque

Joselito “Jay” Roque died peacefully in the comfort of his home on May 17, 2021 in Cross Lanes, West Virginia at the age of 51. Jay is survived by his parents Rod and Josephine Roque; wife, Jodi Roque; son, Landon Roque; sister, Joy Llena; maternal grandfather, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jay was born in 1970 in Manila, Philippines, but immigrated to the United States at a young age. He was raised in West Virginia where he attended Winfield high school. He then went on to West Virginia University where he graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He married Jodi in 1999. In 1996, Jay started his career at Arvin Sango in Indiana. He came back to live in WV after he got a job in Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Production Control in 1998 and eventually became a Production Control Manager. In the year 2000, the couple welcomed their only child into their home and Jay set about teaching him life skills to become a good a man. He was a great father who was involved in his son’s activities. He was a member of the coaching staff for his son’s basketball league. His son remembers him as a fun-loving but driven father who encouraged him to always pursue his goals.
Jay was a master at repairing and troubleshooting problems from home remodeling to repairing and anything mechanical. He was a charismatic individual who loved camping, football, and spending time with family and friends.
Memorial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (2219 22nd Street, Nitro, WV 25143) on Saturday, May 29, at 11AM or virtually https://www.facebook.com/triparishwestvirginia/ (video will be available for 24 hrs after service.
