Jay Allan Mogler, age 67 of Elk River, MN, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022. He was born October 14, 1955 in Sioux Falls, SD, the son of Andy and Freida (Metzger) Mogler.
Jay graduated from West Lyon High School in Iowa with the class of 1974. He furthered his education at Northwest Iowa Technical College obtaining his AAS in Mechanical Technology and the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management obtaining his MMA in Executive Management. Jay began his career at FMC in Cedar Rapids, IA, Mudd Cat in St. Louis Park, Caterpillar Paving Products in Osseo, and Minco in Fridley until his retirement in March 2022. Jay achieved many accomplishments during his lifetime, but his greatest accomplishment of all was raising two wonderful children.
On July 23, 1977, Jay Mogler and Holly Nelson were united in marriage in Winthrop, MN. They were blessed with two children: Luke and Morgan.
Jay enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Luke, and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends, creating many memories. Jay was a hardworking and passionate man who poured his heart into everything he did. His sense of humor was like no other and enjoyed telling jokes and putting a smile on the faces of those around him. He touched the lives of all who knew him and was a mentor to many. Jay was a man of faith and a servant to our lord and savior who he served until his final days. Although he is no longer with us on this earth, we know this is not the end and we will be reunited with him again in our heavenly home.
He is preceded in death by his son, Luke Mogler; parents, Andy and Freida Mogler; niece, Elysia Mogler; father-in-law, Alvin Nelson; and sister-in-law, Candice Pederson.
Jay is survived by his loving wife, Holly Mogler of Elk River; daughter, Morgan (Race) Stamper of Monticello; brothers, Russ (Linda) Mogler of Evergreen, CO, Randy (Evie) Mogler of Peoria, IL; mother-in-law, Donnabell Nelson of Winthrop; adoring nieces and nephews; and extended family and numerous friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to River of Life's Benevolent Ministry which assists with financial support for those who experience unexpected circumstances.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 26, 2022 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at River of Life Ev. Free Church. Funeral services for Jay Mogler will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at River of Life Ev. Free Church, 21695 Elk Lake Road, Elk River. Burial following at Orono Cemetery in Elk River.
