Janis L. Little

Janis L. Little, age 74, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on October 28, 2025. She was born on August 23, 1951, in Rome, GA, daughter of the late Clifford Eugene "Gene" Hand and the late Dorothy Francis "Dot" Oates Hand. Janis attended West Rome High School.

Janis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who found immense joy in her family. She was known for her kindness and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In her free time, Janis found peace and fascination in watching wildlife, especially birds on her feeders, with a particular love for hummingbirds.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Joel W. Little; her sons, Ashley W. Phillips (Beth) and Joshua W. Little; and her brother, Barry hand (Bobbie). She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Jace Phillips (Kylie) and Jasmine Osborne (Evan); two step-grandchildren, Ali McFarland and Matthew McFarland; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and very special lifelong friends, Linda Studard.

Janis was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Doroty Hand, and by a brother, Randall Hand.

In accordance with her wishes, Janis will be cremated a Celebration of Life service will be held at 7pm on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 5pm until service time on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home.

Her memory will live on through the love she shared and the moments of quiet beauty she found in nature. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.
