On October 2, 2020, Janine Lucas passed away due to health issues. She was raised in Mohawk, NY with her parents Jean Case Lucas and Joseph Lucas. After earning her masters degree in public health, Janine chose to reside in Rochester. With a career of nearly forty years with non-profit agencies, she worked for Compeer as a Case Manager, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as the Executive Director, and finally at Willow Domestic Violence Center as a Vice President of Grants and Contracts.
Janine loved to travel, especially to the Adirondacks. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and photography. She was predeceased by her parents and older sister, Joan. Janine's memories survive through her brother and sister in law Jerry and Janet Lucas, niece Dr. Lisa (Kerry) Lucas-Myers, niece Deborah (George) Schlotterer, nephew Donald O'Bryan, niece Janine (James) Alvarenga, great niece Sarah (Richard) Hartman and great nephew Ethan (Hallie) Myers. In addition, many friends and neighbors carry her memories in addition to special pets Shadow, Tyler, Emma and Chloe.
A service will be held at the Strong Todd House on 693 East Ave in Rochester at 11 am on Friday, October 23rd. All are welcomed. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Willow Domestic Violence Center or the Lollipop Farm.
