Violet Janiece Kunz Bell, 95, passed away at her home in Tetonia, Idaho of natural causes on June 16, 2024.
Janiece was born June 3, 1929 at Cedron, Idaho, the daughter of Robert Kunz and Sophia Mills McMurdie. She was the youngest of six children. She attended school at Cedron and Driggs. She was raised on a farm in Cedron and learned how to work hard, garden, tend livestock, and homemaking skills.
She met her husband, Thadmore Mack Bell, at a winter carnival in Driggs. They were married on March 24, 1946 in Dillon, Montana. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 18, 1965. They lived in Pocatello, Idaho for a couple years and then farmed in Teton Valley, where they raised their 4 children. Janiece could be found driving tractor, tending chickens, milking cows or helping Mack in the mechanic shop. Her home always welcomed many family members and friends. She also worked at the University of Idaho Experiment Station, Pierre's Caf?, cooking for the Teton School District and cleaning in Jackson, Wyoming.
She loved to see things grow, raising a large vegetable and flower garden. She loved to sew, read, play cards, chess and fish. She was wise, generous, hardworking and patient. She loved her grandchildren and shared her skills with any that wanted to learn.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints and served in various callings. She was committed to her visiting teaching assignments.
She is survived by her four children: Robert (Nikki) Bell, Rigby, Idaho; Michael (Patsy Bateman) Bell, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Lori Ringel (Mike) Furniss, Tetonia, Idaho; Roy (Wendy) Bell, Tetonia, Idaho; 20 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Mack, one son-in-law, Logan; a daughter-in-law, Sandy; one grandson, Micaiah Bell; her parents, and all of her brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Tetonia LDS Church with Bishop Collin Hunter officiating. Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m., at the Tetonia, LDS church prior to services. Burial will be in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
