Janice "Mimi" Truett Weathersby, age 87, of Montgomery, TX passed away Monday, July 12, 2021 at a caring and loving nursing home in the Rivershire neighborhood.
She was born on April 1st, 1934 in Jasper, TX to Gus and Alpha Perkins Truett and was the youngest of ten children. Janice married John Weathersby who was her childhood sweetheart and partner in life until his passing in 1986. Together they raised three sons in Liberty, TX where Janice served her community as a hairdresser. She never met a stranger and had a natural ability to join in any conversation. She leaves a legacy of kindness, volunteerism, and a strong devotion to her family and friends.
She is survived by her son Jerry Weathersby, his wife Kim, their children Lyle and Yvonne Weathersby; son William Joseph Weathersby, his wife Babette, their son Chad Weathersby; and many nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
She is predeceased by her parents, her spouse and the love of her life John Weathersby, her son Bruce Weathersby, her nine brothers and sisters, as well as, her beloved companion and cherished golden retriever Milli.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery, TX. Funeral services will be on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 10 AM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. A Graveside service will follow at 2 PM at Cook Memorial Cemetery in Liberty, TX. The Weathersby family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Compassionate Care for their attentiveness and loving care.
