Janice A. (Robichaud) Ward, 70
Beloved Mother and Grandmother
Templeton-Janice A. (Robichaud) Ward, 70, formerly of Westminster, died peacefully Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at her home.
Janice was born in Gardner, September 8, 1948, a daughter of the late Peter and Lillian (Chiasson) Robichaud. Her first husband, William LeClair was killed in action during the Vietnam War. Her second husband, Kevin R. Ward died in 2004.
Janice will be lovingly missed by her two daughters, Nancy M. Conant and her husband Randy of Gardner and Karen M. Thibeault and her husband Jay of Athol; five grandchildren, Zachary Russell, Tyler Conant, Jillian Conant, Adam Thibeault and Thomas Thibeault; one brother, Philip Robichaud of Dover, Fl; one sister, Rena Robichaud of Bozman MT; and many nieces and nephews.
Janice was raised in Athol and attended Athol Schools. She was a long-time member of St. Edward the Confessor Church of Westminster where she remained active until her passing. She worked as a school bus driver for many years, she cleaned homes and worked as a meat cutter at the Westminster Market. Her most important job was the one she loved the most, dedicating her life to raising her girls. She later she cherished spending time with her grandchildren. They brought Janice great joy with every visit and passing moment.
Janice also enjoyed the beach, taking trips to York Beach and visiting Nubble Light House where she always would enjoy an ice cream. Janice loved to crochet, was an avid Patriots fan and had quite the sweet tooth. She loved spending time with her best friends, Patty Caffrey and Sally Waite eating out, shopping and going to concerts on the common. The Christmas season was her favorite time of year and she was famous for her Christmas meat pie. Throughout her life Janice touched many lives. She will be fondly remembered for her unwavering kindness. To all who knew and loved her, Janice will be greatly missed.
Her funeral will be held from the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 123 Main St. Westminster on Wednesday, December 19 with a Mass at 10am in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 10 Church St., Westminster. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 5-7 pm in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gardner Relay for Life, C/O of the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or may be left at the funeral home.
