Our beautiful, compassionate, and classy mother and grandmother, Janice Margaret Albertson Tychsen, passed in the care of her family on April 26, at the age of 82. She was one of a kind.
She was born to Lucille and Orville Albertson as the 2nd of 11 children in Roberts, Idaho.
She met the love of her life, Gordon Tychsen, in Rexburg and on September 19, 1962, they were married in the Logan Temple. Together they raised 7 children in Rexburg Idaho. Janice worked at Valley Bank, Dietrich Insurance and Job Service, where she made life-long friends. She loved Jesus and served in many callings in her church including scouting, which was her favorite!
Janice got the nickname Grama Honey from her granddaughter Samantha and has been known as G-Honey for the last 30 years. She was a great example of hard work and service, and her energy and ability to get things done was unrivaled.
She was known for her homemade peanut brittle, bran muffins, raspberry jam, and rice crispy treats, but she was especially famous for her homemade fudge.
She did not wish for a funeral or an obituary, this was kept brief in her honor.
She is survived by her five children, Denise (Mark) Rawle, Wendy (Gary)Stapley, Devlen (Sarah) Tychsen, Ginger (Kevin)Bott, Bryce (Melissa) Tychsen; 21 grandchildren. Her siblings; Wes (Elaine) Albertson, Lyle (Bernetta) Albertson, Cheryl Lloyd, Judy (Dan) Campbell, Sandi (Jim) Diamond, Mechelle (Jeff) Butte, Kortny (Ann) Albertson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon, two sons, Jason and Jerad, her parents, Orville and Lucille Albertson, two sisters, Arlene Hunt and Pat Waters,
and her brother Rex Albertson.
The family will receive friends and family Sunday, May 1, from 5:30-7:00 pm at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 North 1st East, in Rexburg. A Private Family Service will be held on Monday May 2, 2022. Interment will be at Central Cemetery, in Grant Idaho.
