Janice L. (Stoio) Uriah 69, of Utica passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Faxton St. Luke's Health Care in New Hartford.
She was born on July 3, 1953 in Utica a daughter of the late Louis and Philomena (Graziano) Stoio. She was a 1971 graduate of Frankfort Central Schools.
On September 7, 1974 in Utica at Blessed Sacrament Church she was united in marriage to Richard Uriah a blessed union of over 47 years filled with much love and mutual devotion.
Janice began her banking career with Oneida National Bank in Utica and retired from Fleet bank after many years of dedicated service.
Janice was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister who cherished the time that she spent with her family, especially her adored children and grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, Reading Danielle Steele Novels and scrap booking. She loved her fur babies "Rosie", "Lucy", "Bear', and "Willy" who never left her side. She will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Uriah of Utica, her children, Richard (Heather) Uriah of New Hartford, Michael (Jennifer) Uriah of Suffolk, VA, and Mary Theresa (William) Thomas of Utica. She also leaves her adored grandchildren, Kristi, Billy, Kyle, Makayla, Alyssa, Bobby, Elizabeth and Alexis. She leaves a brother Thomas (Maureen) Stoio of Utica and a brother in law, William Cottet of Syracuse, her in-law's, James Uriah of Utica, Donna & Chris Bogdanowich of West Islip, LI and Jackie and Peggy Uriah of CT; also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Sharon Cottet and a sister-in-law, Linda Uriah.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the entire staff of Faxton St. Luke's Health Care ICU for the wonderful care complemented by true compassion that was given to both Janice and her family during her illness.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Mary Mother of Our Savior Parish Lourdes Campus with the Rev. Joseph Salerno Officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Utica. Calling hours will be on Wednesday July 27, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 700 PM at the Dimbleby Funeral Homes Inc. 40 Main St. Whitesboro.
