Janet G. VanZeeland, "Jan" died at the age of 81 on Saturday, February 13th, 2021. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Robert C. VanZeeland and is survived by her four daughters; Kim M. Naniche, married to Andre P. Naniche; Lynne E. Gotjen, married to Mark K. Gotjen; Margaret M. Egan, preceded in death by Thomas J. Egan; Kathy A. Makowski, married to Bruce A. Jan was a classic beauty, which was only matched by her genuine authenticity. She spoke the truth without apology or judgement. She was passionate about spending time with her family and friends. She loved animals and will dearly miss her canine companion "Bobby." She never turned down an opportunity to travel, see new sights, and make new friends. She was ready at a moment's notice to embark on a new adventure. She was curious , interested, and committed to life-long learning. Her family members were consistently in awe of her intelligence, which seemed to improve with age. She likely felt overlooked when she was not asked to host Jeopardy, her favorite television gameshow.
The love for Jan can best be described as all-inclusive. People of all ages and ideology were drawn to her dynamic personality and zest for life. She taught her children to face their challenges with courage and learn from their mistakes. Despite her formidable battle with cancer, she never complained. She lived each day to its fullest. As in life she approached her passing without fear and looked forward to reuniting with the love of her life and the many other loved ones who preceded her in death.
