Janet Ruth Potts, age 99, passed away on May 17, 2022. Born on August 15, 1922 in Martinsburg, Oh. Parents, Lloyd & Althea (Davis) Strawn of Logan, Oh. Janet was a 1940 graduate of Logan High School. She worked for R.B.M. (Essex) in Lancaster for 40 years. For about 10 years she volunteered at the Fairfield Medical Hospital in the gift shop & front desk before she became a nurse's aide. Over the years, Janet crocheted, knitted or quilted many items for family& friends that were unique & greatly appreciated. She enjoyed being part of Julie Cuppett's exercise class & the ladies of the class at the Y on Memorial Drive. Buttercup, her favorite dog, will miss her.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Potts) Sullivan; grandsons, Joseph (Linda) Sullivan& Michael (Teresa) Sullivan; great-grandsons, Phillip (Catherine) Sullivan & Daniel Sullivan; great-granddaughters, Angela (Rich) Grimm & Danielle Sullivan; great-great grand children, Carmen, Claire, Abby, Pasly & Baily; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, George "Mick" (Christy) Potts; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Potts & Rose (Bill) Mallory. Numerous nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents & husband Robert (Bob) Potts; her sisters & brothers-in-lawVerna & Ralph Leadbetter & Emily & Joe Shilling; her brothers & sister-in-law, Glenn Strawn, Marion "Cliff" & Mary Strawn; brothers-in-laws & sisters-in-law, James & Hazel Potts, David & Donna Potts, & John Potts; & her sisters-in-laws, Mary Potts, JoAnn Wurdack & Carmelita Potts.
Calling hours at Sheridan Funeral Home will be held on May 24, 2022 from 5 - 8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Lancaster, Oh. Donations may be made to Lancaster Meals on Wheels, 1515 Cedar Hill Rd., Lancaster, Oh. 43130.
