Today is a very sad day with the passing of my best friend and big Sister Janet Pengelly losing her battle to lung cancer over the past 2 and 1/2 years. She will be deeply missed by our family and friends (furry ones included) that loved her and we will carry her in our hearts forever.
My sis had a wonderful, happy, full life and leaves behind 3 daughters Jenniffer, Karrie & Shannon, 4 grandchildren Cheyenne, Jamie, Justin & Franchesca, 2 great grandchildren Ozzie & Logan & 1 on the way, 2 sisters Irene and Linda, 2 brothers Robert and Bill as well as her pup Nugget and Kitty.
She was born in Houston, TX 1947 to Charles & Elsie Pengelly. Spent most of her young adult life living in Santa Cruz, California. In 1985 she left CA with her 3 daughters and moved to League City, TX where she worked & retired from Diamond Shamrock until 2020. When diagnosed with cancer she moved to Grapevine, TX which turned out to be one of her favorite places in the world. She was blessed to meet new, amazing loving friends that were truly heaven sent.
My sister was a wonderful person, so caring and would do anything for anyone who needed help. She had a tremendous love of animals and over the years rescued so many wonderful babies that brought her so much joy in the world. Her favorite things to do were play slot machines, watch western movies and cheer on her beloved New Orleans Saints. There was not a John Wayne movie or Gunsmoke episode she had not seen a hundred times.
Sis will be cremated and no memorial service held. Her wishes were to pass privately. If you wish to honor her in lieu of flowers she would love any donation to your favorite animal rescue organization.
